A youth-led
research lab
advancing
biotechnology.

Hades Labs brings young researchers together to develop AI for biodefence and medical imaging. We are building the foundations for proprietary internal research, with selective academic collaboration around defined scientific questions.

Our research programmes

Research programmes

Our early-stage work is organised into two distinct programmes, developed internally with selective academic collaboration.

01 / Biodefence

Biological threat detection & medical countermeasures

We aim to develop AI systems that identify emerging biological threats and help design medical countermeasures. This programme focuses on connecting biological data, threat assessment and computational modelling to guide the development of protective treatments.

Our long-term goal is real-time analysis that helps researchers move from an emerging threat to potential responses for laboratory testing. The work is in early development, with an initial emphasis on data foundations and methods for evaluating candidate systems.

02 / Medical imaging

AI for medical image analysis

We are developing a programme in biomedical computer vision to help interpret medical images and investigate patterns associated with disease. The work builds on the imaging prototypes, algorithms and applicable data rights acquired from BiomaAI.

Our priorities are organising and evaluating the acquired research assets, developing image-analysis models and testing their reliability across different imaging settings. These systems remain research tools under development; clinical use would require further validation.

When biology becomes a weapon

States and non-state actors present different biological threats. A serious defence needs historical clarity, credible attribution, enforceable rules and institutions that can keep people safe under uncertainty.

Early warning is only the beginning

A detection system earns its place when it creates usable time. Evidence from wastewater, genomic surveillance, and epidemic intelligence shows where that time is gained—and lost.

The biological crisis already here

Antibiotic resistance is already testing the foundations of modern care. Understanding the burden is only the first step; prevention, evidence, access, and discovery have to work together.

A prediction is not yet evidence

A result becomes useful when another team can inspect it, reproduce it, and establish where it still holds. Evidence from genomics and clinical prediction shows what that requires.

Academic collaboration

We are building an internal research programme and will consider academic collaborations selectively, where scientific expertise aligns with our development priorities.

Each collaboration has a defined scope and agreed arrangements for access, confidentiality, data governance and intellectual property. Any publication or external disclosure is considered individually. Our work does not carry a general commitment to open-source releases, public datasets or routine publication.
